Community Support Is Core to Who We Are

At TASC, we believe that strong communities create strong missions. While we focus on supporting the government contracting community, we’re equally committed to giving back to the region we call home—Hampton Roads.

Through fundraising, volunteerism, scholarships, and partnerships, TASC and our members work together to support causes that matter, including military families, veterans, future leaders in STEM, and local nonprofits that strengthen our neighborhoods.

Our Charitable Mission

Each year, TASC selects a local charity to support as part of our commitment to community service. We raise funds and awareness through annual events and member engagement—and 100% of donations go directly to the selected organization.

Captain Joseph F. Yurso Scholarship Endowment

Established in 2020, the Captain Joseph F. Yurso Scholarship Endowment honors a legacy of service and leadership. Created by the Tidewater Association of Service Contractors, this endowment supports students in the Batten College of Engineering and Technology at Old Dominion University.

The scholarship is awarded to a student who demonstrates financial need and maintains good academic standing—reflecting TASC’s commitment to investing in the next generation of engineers and innovators who may one day serve the mission through federal contracting and public service.

TASC Endowed Scholarship

Established in 2006, the Tidewater Association of Service Contractors (TASC) Endowed Scholarship supports students enrolled in either the Frank Batten College of Engineering or the Strome College of Business at Old Dominion University. Eligible recipients may be in an undergraduate, graduate, or Master’s Certification in Government Contracting program, or any certificate program supporting government contracting within the university’s Continuing Education Departments. Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 to qualify.
